Description
This razor handle was handcrafted by Robert Quinn from spalted Maple. This spalted Maple comes from the hard maple, also known as rock or sugar maple. The hard Maple is a cold-climate tree, and grows abundantly in the northeastern United States, Middle Atlantic States, and throughout the Great Lakes region, as well as in areas of eastern Canada. The heartwood is reddish in color, varying from light to dark reddish-brown. The growth rings produce a very fine brown line throughout the wood. The grain of hard maple is tight with a fine texture. Maple burl is a popular choice for furniture, cabinets, countertops and musical instruments.
This razor handle is 3.25 inches long and weighs 1.4 ounces.
