Description
This razor handle was handcrafted by Robert Quinn from figured Tasmanian Blackwood that is native to the rainforests in Australia, from the Atherton Tableland in Queensland to central Tasmania. Blackwood timber color ranges from a very pale honey color through to a dark chocolate with streaks of red tinge. Blackwood is very similar in its properties, color and figure to Hawaiian Koa and is highly regarded as a wood for acoustic guitars. Luthiers have used highly figured Blackwood in their best instruments. Blackwood timber is used in coach and boat building and continues to be regarded as the best Australian timber for beer barrels.
This razor handle is 3.25 inches long and weighs 1.4 ounces.
